How to choose a bottle of wine

A few questions beat a thousand scores you did not earn.

Ignore fake scores on a shelf talker until you know who wrote them. Ask three things: grape or region, body (light to full), and whether you want something crisp, round, earthy, or sweet. With food, match weight more than color dogma. Rich sauce can take richer wine. Spicy food often likes a little sweetness or lots of acidity. If you are standing in a shop, tell the merchant the dish and a price. That is their job. Vintage matters more for some wines than others. Everyday bottles are built to drink now. You do not need a cellar to have a good Tuesday. We do not import other sites’ tasting notes. When we list wine, it will be a real product with a real source — not a paragraph copied from a critic.
